Who We Are
The Gospel really is simple: love God,
love His people, and love the lost—in that order. Real compassion
for people does not exist without first being plugged into the heart
of God. And Jesus is very clear that if His Church is not functioning
in love toward one another, we provide a pretty dismal picture of
Gospel community to an increasingly fragmented world desperate for
hope. So our vision is pretty straightfoward - 3 “C’s”, to make
it easy to remember:
Christ: We
seek to engage our hearts and lives with Jesus Christ, our Messiah
and our God. He has to be the place we start. If you’re not there
yet, that’s totally cool. Our goal is not to judge: we simply
believe that following Jesus Christ is the only way to truly
experience life, and we want to invite you along on that journey with
us.
Community:
This might be the messiest and most difficult part of being the
Church: we seek to actively engage with one another and learn how to
lay down our lives for each other, like Jesus did for us.
Compassion:
We believe that Gospel awareness and Gospel community cannot help but
overflow to other parts and people in our lives. We pray for and
serve not only those in “our group”, but also and especially go
out of our way to serve and love those that appear most unlovable.
This is the heart of Jesus. This is the heart of the Gospel.
