Assistant Facilities Manager

This position implements the activities necessary to ensure the church facilities are safe, operational, and ready for services on as-needed basis.  This individual will participate in the support of planning, organizing, and problem solving as required by the Facilities Manager.

General Requirements

  • Prepare buildings and rooms for scheduled and unscheduled events, meetings, and services

  • Set up rooms with tables, chairs, trash containers as determined by Events coordinator and reset afterwards

  • Assure all facility utilities are functioning e.g. lights, leaks, air conditioning/heating

  • Perform minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and trouble-shooting as required

  • Assure all facilities are properly secured and alarmed at end of work day

  • Assist with facilities ground landscaping and storm water drainage

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of facility records, drawings, documents and purchase records of all facility buildings, equipment, tools and vehicles

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a Preventive Maintenance Program for all facility buildings and equipment

  • Assist in preparation of department financial budget for 2 year cycle

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Agreement with The Crossing Church’s Statement of Faith and commitment to live by the Leadership Honor Code and personnel policies and procedures

  • Strong computer skills are required with Smart Draw and CAD skills a plus

  • Able to work within a close-knit, diverse team environment with high flexibility and ability to work within tight schedule deadlines

  • Able to lift and carry 40# loads, work in confined and/or elevated spaces with some walking on rooftops

  • Two years experience working as a facilities maintenance technician, home remodeler or other working with your hands type jobs

  • Bilingual skills and/or military service with honorable discharge is a plus. Please provide resume and references.


  • High School Diploma required with 2-year Associates degree a plus

Work Schedule

Generally work five days a week (Sun, Mon – Thur or Tues – Fri), with other times related to special events.  Anticipate 40+ hours a week, depending on tasks.
